Back at the beginning of March I saw this A to Z quiz on Janetha’s blog.
I then saw it pop up on a few other blogs on my blogroll. It looked like a really fun quiz but I was just coming off of a glut of quizzes that I threw at you (see here and here) so I figured I should let this one go.
But then I needed a creativity-inspiring exercise to get me in the writing mood when I was working on my book the other day, and I thought doing something like this quiz would be perfect. Well, it was! And rather than throw the results away, I thought: let’s just bug people with one more quiz. I PROMISE this will be the last one in a while. Until someone else comes up with an even cooler one. Sorry…
If I missed your quiz or if you haven’t done it yet, do and link to it please! In the comments :). I am that kind of nosy parker that loves reading other people’s answers to these things!
So here we go!
A is for age: 26. I’ll be 27 on July 1st. Ever since I turned 25 I’ve had an uneasiness about getting older so let’s move on quickly, shall we?
B is for breakfast today: That would have been some protein pancakes, boo ya! Pumpkin this morning :). I clearly don’t align myself with the seasons.
C is for currently craving: Actually, nothing. I just had a protein shake and I. am. stuffed.
D is for dinner tonight: I’m not getting home till late so it will have to be something simple. I’m thinking eggs with some roasted veg and potatoes. Yummy.
E is for favorite type of exercise: Probably Zumba, actually. Just because I always sweat, I love to dance, and I never feel like I’m working out. The hour flies by.
F is for an irrational fear: Frogs. It’s irrational because they won’t hurt you, but I hate how their instinct is to jump towards you and not away from you. Growing up in the Caribbean, I am used to my fair share of wildlife, but frogs just get to me every time. When I was back home for vacation there were 2-3 frogs that sat on the stairwell leading up to our apartment every night. I nearly had a heart attack getting in the front door every. single. night.
G is for gross food: I became a vegetarian for moral reasons, so when I started to view meat as … well, sorry to say, but dead things … it quickly became gross to me. I like pretty much everything else! Except for peppers. I’m weird that way – can’t stand peppers.
H is for hometown: George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. A beautiful, beautiful place :).
I is for something important: Friends and family. A lot of mine are scattered across the world, but I try my very best to keep in touch.
J is for current favorite jam: Going off of Janetha’s answer, I realize this is referring to music and not fruit jams (I guess Americans call them jelly?) so I’ll go with the music track. I can’t get sick of Adele. Which is a good thing. And a band from Cayman, Hi Tide. Their music is awesome – check it out!
K is for kids: I don’t want any children at present, but everyone assures me I’ll change my mind. We’ll see. For now, I’m really looking forward to becoming an aunt in July!
L is for current location: North Vancouver, BC, in my apartment overlooking the water. Lovely view!
M is for the most recent way you spent money: Probably on iTunes. Ever since I got an iPhone I spend a fortune on iTunes because it’s just so darn easy to click and buy. I justify it by saying I need new tunes when working out. This is partially true.
N is for something you need: Truthfully I don’t need anything. In our society we live very privileged lives and want for very little. However, if I go with what my mind says I need, then that would be a couple of pairs of bright-coloured jeans for spring.
O is for occupation: I’m an editor in my day job and also a business owner! My mom and I co-own a proofreading, editing and copywriting business.
P is for pet peeve: People who don’t indicate when they’re driving. It’s the smallest flick of a switch and communicates SO much to other drivers and can prevent so many accidents! Don’t get me started, it just bugs me.
Q is for a quote: My favourite quote is “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
R is for random fact about you: I eat left-handed. I always swap the knife and fork every time I sit down to a laid table. I’ve always said it’s because my sister, who is 6 years older than me, is a leftie and I grew up wanting to be like her so I would copy her. I also wear my watch on my right hand and snowboard both goofy and regular. So I’m kind of ambidextrous – except where it counts. I.e. I can only write right-handed.
S is for favorite healthy snack: Despite what people say, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are healthy! I make mine with whole grain bread, peanut butter and fruit-sweetened strawberry jam. So I would say that. If that doesn’t count, an apple with peanut butter is pretty awesome too. Or strawberries dipped in very dark chocolate. Notice how all my healthy snacks have something that make them slightly unhealthy? Ah well.
T is for favorite treat: Pretty much anything chocolate.
U is for something that makes you unique: Erm…I don’t know, because whatever I say inevitably there will be someone else with the same quirk/feature/habit. I have moved about 39 times, I believe, in my life. So it’s getting up there. I’m sure there will be someone who’s moved more and someone who’s moved less but maybe there’s no one else who has moved exactly 39 times??
V is for favorite vegetable: Tough choice! Depends on the day. But probably mushrooms. Just love ’em.
W is for today’s workout: I did a killer gym circuit on my lunch break. Boo-ya!
X is for X-rays you’ve had: For different immigration medicals, I’ve had a lot of chest X-rays. I had an MRI on my lower back injury but not an X-ray. I may have had a knee X-ray? And lots of dental ones. Yikes. My radiation levels may not be so great.
Y is for yesterday’s highlight: Hanging out with friends. Always a good time!
Z is for your time zone: Pacific time zone. Fun fact? Changing times with Daylight Savings etc does not come naturally to me – Cayman never changes its time. So sometimes it’s on Central and sometimes on Eastern. Fairly cool.
QUESTIONS:
- Well, folks, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to post the whole quiz yourself, I’ll steal another idea from Janetha and ask that you pick the letters from your initials and answer those in the comments below. 🙂
i’m with you. i certainly don’t NEED much, but i would love some bright colored jeans! need to go shopping! i enjoyed learning more about you here…
Thanks Sara! Those jeans are so tempting – I tried on a few pairs yesterday, and nearrrrllly splurged 😉
oh my goodness, ever since I moved to DC it seems like literally nobody uses their blinker here when turning or changing lanes. drives me crazy!! and it has one of the highest accident rates in the country! come on people! 😉
Yikes! No one does back home either. Isn’t it the worst??
How fun! I’ve never tried Zumba- as a former dancer I think I would LOVE it! I should get my booty there asap
ps I’ll be 26 soon- I feel your pain ; )
Zumba is FULL of former dancers – you would definitely love it! 🙂
How fun!! Oh you are SO young, I will be 30 on Sunday!! You are a young one! Loving the gifts you were hoarding too, I spy lululemon 😉
Happy Tuesday! ❤
Haha I will keep telling myself that! But you’ve accomplished an awful lot for a 29 year old! Remember that :).
You spy right – my amazing friend Tara got me my first hot yoga mat towel from Lulu for my birthday. Love her! xxx
I have always wanted to go to the Cayman Islands, looks beautiful and the water is just amazing! I am with you, I love PB&J’s! All natural peanut butter, all fruit spread (or sliced bananas), with whole wheat bread…its very healthy and very underrated!
Exactly! I think the old idea of slathering sugary jam on white bread and the idea of peanut butter as ‘fattening’ is sticking in too many people’s minds. PB&Js can be glorious in taste and health!
And thank you – Cayman would LOVE to host you! We love our tourists, they keep us going :). Let me know if you ever end up going and I’ll give you the 411 on where to hit up!
Loved reading through your answers! Now that I’ve reached my 25th birthday (tomorrow!) I’m feeling the same as you 😛 My birthdays used to excite me and now…haha, moving on.
I’m pretty sure every “healthy” thing I eat has something “not healthy” in it. Come on, chocolate chips in my oatmeal? And I will gladly devour that strawberry/chocolate dip combo that you’ve got there! Looks delicious 😀
Happy birthday for tomorrow Char! It’s so weird, 25 is like ‘the age’. I wanted to be in a steady relationship, in a good job and settling down by the time I hit 25. Instead, I was dumped 3 weeks before my 25th birthday – haha, no joke! And my job was less than perfect and I had just moved…yah, life threw me a curve ball there. I’m still learning to make the most of each day and try to get rid of timelines in my brain!
Btw, I’ve noticed your comments are no longer at ungodly hours – is your insomnia better? Or are you just doing something other than reading blogs when you can’t sleep?? 🙂 😉
